Errors After Inverter control board replacement and problems with re-flash.

    1) He's in a very different timezone (Odesa) than B.C., so you'll need careful coordination. 2) His screenshot link shows that, if you're using TPD 1.1.46, you (should) have the firmware: Maybe double-check?

Really good info there, Vlad :)

Errors After Inverter control board replacement and problems with re-flash.

Remember: TPD, when used legally, connects to Toyota for firmware files. Your version may not be legal, and you have what you have. Or, you may need to pay Toyota USD$25 for a 48-hour subscription, in order to allow TPD to obtain files. IDK, I've never explored this, as I haven't had to flash...

The Toyota service manual specifies to always support the 12v system with their GR8 (00002-MCGR8) device while programming. It's a fancy battery charger, yes. From T-SB-0043-13: That particular TSB is very Techstream-centric, but it eventually has you fire up TPD anyway to do the actual...

“Charging Malfunction- check external power supply”

Following on to this, there's a diagnostic socket at the Tesla Gateway module, located at the left rear of the cargo area, behind a plastic panel. It's user-accessible without tools. To use this socket, you need both a special cable, and special software. The software is kind of crap, but it's...

“Charging Malfunction- check external power supply”

You didn't provide any info on which EVSE you're using at home, or your home circuit's capacity. Matt gave good advice above. If possible change one variable: charge somewhere else. Using your Toyota-supplied 120v EVSE, or someone else's EVSE (anyone's, or public). Symptom change...

    Help replacing a coolant pump

The Toyota side "remembers" that the Tesla side requested a MIL, and if the Tesla side stops requesting MIL, the Toyota side will still light it for anywhere from 3-5 cycles of the car. I thought it was always 5, but twice I've seen the MIL clear off the IC in 3 cycles, so [shrug]. IDK what's...

Errors After Inverter control board replacement and problems with re-flash.

Welcome! You are operating in territory where few have gone. Only alflash and QC Charge (who no longer is on this forum, he now hides from his past in a private/gated FB group) could answer your questions from experience. I believe that alflash ran into a situation with an OBC from a Model S...

Longer Range Battery / Extra battery

Bear in mind that a 40a circuit will only support 32a continuous, per NEC ("code"). Be sure and configure your new EVSE accordingly. The RAV4 EV will theoretically draw 40a continuous if you let it (mine tops out at ~38.2a usually). Don't make the mistake of configuring your EVSE to allow 40a...

LDU rotor cooling bypass ("Coolant Delete") modification

The tube has been pressed out and AFAIK nobody has an explanation for that circlip: why is it there, what did it do? Howard considered that pressing the tube out and installing a second plug there would be simpler for home DIYers but after seeing the galling that occurs when it's pressed out...

LDU rotor cooling bypass ("Coolant Delete") modification

    1) No, 2.170" is the final oversize of .005", which = 55.12mm. Another person used 55.18mm which is an awful lot of interference fit on an aluminum casting of this size, but I was convinced to try 55.07mm first (.003") and that was not enough for a truly tight fit IMO, and then I had 55.12mm...

Longer Range Battery / Extra battery

Not my wheelhouse, as I've never purchased a new car, and never a used car from a dealership. You may want to edit your profile here at myrav4ev.com to include your location, or at least your state. This can get you better/more-tailored advice that's location based, faster.

Longer Range Battery / Extra battery

You're going to have to diagnose it yourself. There are really few places that can or are willing to work on this orphan. Also, NO Toyota dealer will change those fuses. They'll only change the entire OBC -- they do not consider it a serviceable part -- and it must be diagnosed correctly...

Longer Range Battery / Extra battery

As a DIY-er, I might spend more than the value of my RAV4 EV, in order to increase it's range, but for "normal" people, buying a used Bolt/Mach-E/Kia/Hyundai/Volvo/Mini/etc. is going to be the sensible upgrade path, and most RAV4 EVs will be scrapped, as is the normal life-cycle of cars. There...

    LDU Rotor Temperature Monitor

I do not like running wiring from the engine compartment into the passenger area on modern cars, so I've been putting it off, but today was the day . . . The firewall wiring bundle on the passenger (right) side has an oversized grommet with a pre-molded empty nipple. I cut the end of the...
