Then again... maybe I'm wrong (LOL).. these things were made and certified back in '11.... but we've never seen a single one down here... they are 50kw!

No, Delta is a different charger... I think. The Eaton unit is based on a Japanese design, and I guess the Delta unit could be a similar concept.

We have completed our revalidation of the next software upgrade today. I plan to be in the San Francisco Bay area this upcoming week to update everybody that had a JdeMO installed in December 2015.

Tony, I just wanted to jump in here and say that I think you, Bob, and your QCP team are awesome. Even though the product is "out the door", you're supporting the product and your customers in ways that Toyota can't even imagine. Thanks for your attention to detail and ongoing quest to make your product(s) better and better.

Hi! First I will say my JDemo work as I was hoping - without problems so far! :-) i have been using it several times now. The winter have at last come here- minus 20-25C the last weeks and it charges just fine!
About this update- is this a "doityourself" case or is it possible to have it done in one or other way in my place -Norway? Does the upgrade fix anything of importanceis or is it just "nice to have..."? W

The update specifically is geared towards deliveries that were made in December 2015. I believe yours is outside of that group.

We may offer a more widespread update in the coming year or two, but none is available now.

I did a little chart on "what's the best speed to drive" if you can charge with ChaDemo.

Turns out the curve is pretty flat between 65 & 75mph (ie. it doesnt do very much good, over a 400 mile trip, to vary your speed between those speeds). Faster than that is definately slower.

Speed made good peaks around around 50-51mph. (which assumes you dont do anything except charge and that all chargers are 48KWH which is around what the ABB ones are).

Chart is here:

I have returned from a 6 day trip of 1735 miles, San Diego to Sacramento and return with 14 updated JdeMO's completed, and one new installation. I think I earned my pay this week.
