Looks like the EA site in Willows along I-5 has finally gone live. This closes the last big gap on the way up to Oregon and beyond.

On a side note, we're getting to the point where the state is almost covered. Yes, we could always use more chargers, but most of the big gaps are closed. I'm seeing just a few annoying gaps, mostly from chargers that have been installed, but not connected.

Barstow/Yermo has two that would be valuable on I-15
Greenfield/King City along 101
Willts further north on 101
EA sites along 395

I'm sure there's plenty more places that could use chargers. Personally, I'd love to see some up in Big Bear and Mammoth for skiing.

Another corridor that could use some DC fast chargers would be along SR-46/I-5 between Paso Robles and Bakersfield as well along SR-41 between Atascadero and Fresno. DC fast chargers along those routes would make going from Central Coast to Bakersfield or Yosemite more practical. At the minimum a large multi-charger site in King City (similar to what Tesla has) and Lost Hills would be great.

SR-41 has planned chargers between Paso Robles and Fresno from CalTrans and ChargePoint at Shandon, Kettleman, and Lemoore.

I am disappointed that the CalTrans plan has only resulted in the Camp Roberts chargers so far, and those don't have a reliable and strong grid connection yet. Thankfully, the Monterey ARD approved funds for those grid connections shortly after the Recargo stop work order was issued by the CEC.

King City and Lost Hills are good target locations for DCFCs. I think that the Greenfield EA site will be a good substitute for a multi-stall King City installation. ChargePoint has already installed a pair of stations in King City, but they're not online yet. The closest thing to Lost Hills is a ChargePoint site in Buttonwillow that has been sitting for many months with chargers installed but offline.

All this talk of King City, Paso Robles, etc. puts me in mind of my favorite Calif. highway: 198. Between 101 and I-5 (or at least Coalinga). Some truly beautiful country to drive through. I miss it. I used to drive it every December when I'd visit my father in LA. He passed in 2011, and I've not been through 198 since.

I'd love to see more coverage in/around places like national parks and forests. I'd like to be able to get to places deeper in the mountains. Yosemite is getting reasonably well covered, but it would be nice to see more chargers in places like Sequoia, Big Sur, Mendocino, Klamath, Lassen. Even a couple of Level 2 chargers at a visitors center would help.

Of course, with a 200+ mile EV, getting into the mountains becomes much less of an issue than it is in a RAV4. I may have to finally trade up in the next year or two.

Looks like the EA site in Mojave is up and running. Once they get Coso Junction going, the Eastern Sierras will be open.

The Chargepoint site in Yermo along I-15 is also showing up as open, but the Chargepoint app still doesn't list it. After almost a year, you'd expect it to be open, but who knows.

The Buttonwillow Chargepoint site is finally online and showing up on the network in the app. The site has three Express 200 (50kW) units.

There is also a single ChargePoint Express 250 (62.5kW) unit at the top of the Grapevine in Lebec on Frazier Park Road.

I noticed a few of the "30 in 30" sites at highway rest stops have popped up as "under construction"

Anyone remember how long it took for the units on the 101 to actually go live?

Also, EA's four chargers have gone live in Baker, making a total of 12 DCFCs for that town. Almost as many as Tesla.
