Actually that might not be your imagination... The car is on AT&T Cellular to get those requests (at least mine is). Cell reception *is* weather dependent. At my house in Volcano, the car is offline if i park it in the garage, but usually-online when outside. I also have a standby generator that is on AT&T (it tells me when its running etc.). This was most useful when I didnt live here full time. And it worked *at night mainly* until quite recently, because the signal propagates better in cooler temperatures. (as a ham radio operator, i've actually used this effect to make contacts on 145mhz. its very pronounced there, and less so at higher frequencies, but atmospherics are still a thing if you're not "close" to a cell site).
