Does the Rav4 EV have any IIHS or NHTSA safety ratings? The only site I found with some safety ratings was here:

http://www.intellichoice.com/1-12-2012-52512-28/2012-toyota-rav4-ev-4dr-sport-utility-safety-ratings.html

However, I am kind of skeptical this is accurate because the major websites (edmunds, kbb, etc.) all don't seem to have ratings for the Rav4 EV.

The government site doesn't even list a 2012, and the 2013 is "not rated", which means to me the usual funny business of skittering around rules to the letter of the law.

I suspect that there must be some exemption for the 2012, and that might be the single biggest reason why there's no 2013.

Maybe there will be a 2014 if they decide to smash a few up... Or maybe not? Maybe they are exempt at 2600 total production? I know that there are exemptions for small manufacturers. Did the Tesla Roadster do crash testing?

There is no mention of any government "5-STAR"safety ratings on the window sticker either. I think Tony may be correct about the reason. There will only ever be a very small percentage of these cars in the general population, so crash testing may have been waived, or possible exempted because the "body style" is based on an existing model, the standard RAV4.
