WOW!!! IMPRESSIVE!!! That's one humongous, bright silver, powerful looking AC INDUCTION MOTOR under the hood. Looks like it must weigh a couple hundred pounds easy! Thanks for the pics! :D

Btw, anybody know the RAV4 EV's front/rear axle weight distribution? I'm guessing close to 60/40 because of the massive electric motor generator set and 3-into-1 radiator stack way up front.

Edit: I mistakenly thought the inverter was a second motor.

Here's the spec sheet for these motors in the Tesla Model S:

85 kW·h (Performance)
416 hp (310 kW), 443 ft·lb (600 N·m)

85 kW·h (Standard)
362 hp (270 kW), 325 ft·lb (440 N·m)

Here's my Rav4 with the covers removed showing the Tesla Model S motor (on the left) and inverter on the right. The gear reduction box is in the middle:

I agree, WOW. It is bigger than I thought. There is a lot to look at in those photos. I see the obvious, coolant lines in and out, bushing and support, and a small connector. Is that a temp sensor? Where are the high voltage leads? Are they internal from inverter to motor?, or are they on the aft side above the transaxle? It really is squeezed in there and nice and low. It's just barely above the wheel hub center.
