In order the make this car usable for charging anywhere but at home this car needs a Universal Mobil Connector similiar to what Tesla has for the Roadster or Model S with a J1772 end or adapter. Nobody makes one at this time, and it is desparately needed!!

While none of these give you the 40 amps you would need to fully utilize the onboard charger, there are some that can get close.

http://www.pluginamerica.org/accessories/spx-power-xpress $950 for 30 amps
http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/ClipperCreekInc/-strse-6/Level-2-EVSE%2C-Level/Detail.bok $795 for 25 amps

It would be nice if someone built one at the 40 amps needed.

Lloyd, I saw the pictures of your new car and the phone app on the TMC site. Great looking car and probably the best car companion app I've seen to date. Congratulations on your new baby!

I am not sure 40 Amps is really needed. If I have a fairly depleted pack and put my RAV on the EV Link, my car is fully charged by the morning.

I have an EV Link by Schneider Electric which I bought at Home Depot for $750 and installed it myself. I charges at 30 Amps which is more than adequate for me. I did not want to spend twice as much for another 10 Amps since it makes no difference to me whether my car finishes it's charge at 3am or 5am.
