Hello,
I'm looking to all of you Rav 4 EV experts to let me know if I should buy this car? I've driven the car, I love the car, however I just want to make sure that I making a smart financial decision. Have you had battery issues? Is there a certain warranty I should buy? Any other thoughts? Thank you!

Are you in CALIF?? If not, really consider how difficult future service may be for you to get.

You will need to purchase a Toyota Platinum Vehicle Service Agreement for safety sake in case expensive parts break. Got to do it before 36,000 miles or it gets complicated to purchase.

I have a 2013 which I purchased when the lease was up. If the vehicle in question has a clean service history, I say go for it. The price is neither a bargain or outrageous.

I am just finalizing the buyout of my lease. I got a quote for the maximum Platinum plan (a new plan introduced on August 1st when they raised the rates on all of the plans): 10 year/125K miles for $2455 at Sunnyvale Toyota. Lesser times and mileage are obviously less money. I spent over a week trying to get them to finalize the deal and give them my credit card number. I called a number of times and left messages, but did not get a call back. I went to my local dealer where I leased the car, Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa and Jessica McDivitt (a Finance Manager) agreed to match it. I had my car in for the recalls and it just took her a few minutes to write it up and run my credit card. The period of the lease begins when the car was first sold/leased. So my plan runs for seven more years. As a side note, this was my cars first visit back to the dealer in the 3 years I have had it.

In February, I paid $1,245 for the 8 years / 100k miles Platinum Warranty. However, I have heard that there were price increases in April and August.
