So checked coolant and it is a little past low again. Last i saw this was last year before a van cracked my right headlight. The toyota collision center was nice enough to change the traction battery coolant and full flush. It has been about 9 months and now the coolant is a little past low. Should i top it off? Can i just buy the coolant at pepboys and drop it right in? Or do i need special tools? Can i pop the coolant jug's lid And drop the g48 coolant like that? Also what is thepink coolant for?

How full is the big G48 tank on the passenger side? When my battery coolant was low, the main coolant tank was full, so I just transferred some over so that it was between the low and high marks. I also had some collision repair and I suspect that they didn't quite get all the bubbles out of the battery coolant circuit, so the level dropped a little.

Driver side is low the passenger is close to full. Do I need need to put in only a little to get it back to full again? Is the jug of G48 huge? How did you transfer the liquid? What did you use? I'm not sure if mine were bubble since it's been about 9 months. Seems like a long time for bubbles to come out!

What is the pink coolant use for. It says cabin, but what is it used in the cabin for?

I'm just going from memory so this might not be 100% accurate. There is a sticker on the hood that shows which coolant is for what. The pink stuff circulates through the cabin heater and Denso heater unit. The passenger side blue is for the traction battery, the driver side is for the inverter and motor.

A year ago I asked for a price at Toyota parts for the G48 coolant and a gallon was $23. You can get it at auto parts stores too. I believe you add it straight, not diluted.

I used a fat bubble tea straw to transfer the G48 from one tank to the other. You know, stick the straw in, plug the top end with your finger and pull it out. As you get it out, turn it over, then move to the other tank and let it out.

I'm going a little off topic here, but the pink coolant does it leak inside the cabin? If so, does it have any particular smell? I'm asking because last year the lead acid started to fume and the smell came into the cabin by being pulled by the cabin fan from the motor compartment and I first thought it was something else and ended up getting poisoned for a few days. If this pink thing goes into the cabin and can leak what should I watch out for? Any smells? Where would it leak at?

Thats a great idea to transfer the coolant miimura! Did you wear gloves or anything? The coolant didn't get contaminated or anything?

Yes, the pink coolant can leak in the cabin.

It’s not toxic to you, unless you ingest it.

Hi tony

Thanks so inhaling the pink is ok? It was not ok with the lead acid that is for sure if i am just scared for that to happen again. Also transfering the g48 coolant from the other vessel is ok? Motor to traction battery?

I don’t see any issues with that.
