I have Platinum warranty. Owned the car for a little of 6 months now in Wisconsin.

Sothorn Kok "Thorn"
800-331-4331
option 3, then extension 73848
Fax 310-974-5652

Thorn's contact info doesn't work anymore. I need to be able to tell the service manager at my dealer who to call/talk to to get this resolved. The dealer already knows what to expect, after I informed them that a travelling tech will have to be sent out to do any work on the car, post issuing me the warranty. I hope it can be rectified in 30 days.

P312F is the fault code, for "service ev system immedately". Car has had all recall work done.

Edit: Also has brand new 12V battery

Did you just change the 12V battery?

If so, the fault may have arisen due to the battery change. Have you tried powering up with the charger fuse pulled out, switch off, put the fuse back in, and power up again? It may also need the fault codes to be cleared.

Evidently the phone shortcut only works during normal business hours. I got someone on the phone.

No, the battery was replaced 6 months ago (I happen to work for Johnson Controls) so I've got an upgraded 12v battery.

How much does it cost to replace the Gateway ECU?

Don't have a number yet, waiting on corporate to call me back. Followed up this morning, case got escalated to the management team that handles the Rav4 EV. (Case Manager's name is Alex).

Dealership refused to give me a loaner car, saying they don't have any. Not too happy about that at the moment. Thankfully I have a backup for the next few days.

The warranty should have a provision for a rental car. Have the dealer set it up for you.

FYI P312F is not a gateway failure code; it's a generic error code from the gateway to tell the Toyota side of things to turn on the MIL (ie 'Check EV System'). By plugging into the diagnostics connector on the gateway, the tech should be able to see which of the 100+ Tesla fault codes is active and/or is shown in the history.

I just went off the forum posts; will see what it is shortly.

Alex from corporate is working on getting me a rental car too.

Are you a Toyota trained technician?

The DTC descriptions are available to anyone with a factory service manual.

Toyota is my employer, however any views expressed in this forum are my own.
