Start: Clovis, 93619 (100% charge, 120miles GOM reading)
End: Gilroy Factory Outlet stores (124 miles driven, 14miles left on GOM)
freeway speed = 60-65 mph
Max elevation = 1,300 ft (Pacheco Pass)
Passenger weight = close to 500 lbs. (3 adults & a 4yr old child)
Notes: no AC usage, DRL off, radio playing at mid level

Disappointed to find out that the SemaCharge unit only has around 25A output (?)... Entune says total charge time would take almost 9 hours /sigh

I guess we'll be stuck here till 7pm. Will post more Details and pics later

Solid data, thanks. That GOM could be any number, but we know the car will go 3.4 miles per kWh at 65 mph on the largely level terrain (except the pass) that you drove with no wind, no heater, and dry roadway and most importantly, starting and ending at the same elevation.

3.4 * 41.8 usable kWh = 142 miles calculated range.

You drove 124 + 14 GOM miles to go = 138 total. I'll bet that you could have done 142.

We are on the heavy side I guess. Im confident now that the Rav can do 150 miles on flat roads with a full charge and only me riding it... with nothing else on (except the radio, gotta have music)

Trip back stats:

Start: Gilroy Factory Outlet stores (100% charge, 122miles GOM reading)
End: Clovis, 93619 (124 miles driven, 14miles left on GOM)
freeway speed = 60-65 mph
Max elevation = 1,300 ft (Pacheco Pass)
Passenger weight = close to 500 lbs. (3 adults & a 4yr old child)
Notes: AC turned on @ 79-80'F (Eco-Hi, Auto), DRL on halfway, radio playing at mid level (outside temperate was around 76-78'F before Pacheco Pass, and between 82-87'F from LosBanos towards Fresno

I'm amazed at how efficient the AC is, there was barely any difference! Also, the onboard computer was incorrect about the SemiCharge output, at first it reported almost 9 hours to fully charge... instead, the Rav4 finished charging in 7.25 hours. So, I'm guessing those are 30A chargers? (plugshare says 25A)

Virtually all public chargers are 208 volt / 30 amp.

7.25 hours * 18.7miles @ 65mph per hour charging = 135.5 miles

^^^^ sound about right? ^^^^

At a steady 65mph on level, no wind roadways without heater use, the car will get 3.4 miles per kWh economy, therefore public charging will likely provide 5.5kW into the battery for 18.7 miles per hour charging.

Miles Gained per Hour Charging
Amps/Volts -- Where ---- City Drive ----- 65mph

12 / 120 ------- Any ------ 2.8 miles ------- 3.5 miles (supplied cable with car)
12 / 240 ------ Home ----- 6.5 miles ------- 8.5 miles (http://www.EVSEupgrade.com)
16 / 208 ------ Public ----- 7.5 miles ------- 9.5 miles
16 / 240 ------ Home ----- 8.9 miles ------ 11.2 miles
20 / 208 ------ Public ----- 9.4 miles ------- 11.9 miles (rare combo)
20 / 240 ------ Home ---- 11.0 miles ------ 13.9 miles (Clipper Creek LCS-25)
30 / 208 ---- Public ---- 14.8 miles ----- 18.7 miles (virtually all public charge stations)
40 / 240 ------ Home ---- 22.7 miles ----- 28.5 miles (CC CS-50 or Leviton 40 amp)

Ok... I'll admit it... I can't fathom references to "DRL". Please advise.
