Hello I recently purchased a 2013 model but haven't been able to get a good look at the underbody before hitting a tree branch downed in the road this morning. I just got back from lunch and parked and notice the passenger front side panel is hanging down. I hope this is two pieces and I simply need new clips rather than having to buy a new underbody cover.

Can anyone please post a good under body picture. When I search Google I get pics but they don't appear to be a RAV4 EV. Does anyone have a link to a service manual that has the parts and numbers they can post or PM me a link to?

The dealership I bought it from wont be able to see me until Monday and my commute is 85+ miles daily and don't want this flying off while driving. Thanks for any help.

There are three different sized fasteners used for those under body panels. The ones that are most likely missing are easy to find at a Toyota dealer.

If you're near me in San Diego, I have them in stock. They require no tools they literally just pop in. You don't need a dealer or mechanic to do that for you.

Here they are, in order of likelihood needed:

Small underbody clip, Toyota part number 90467-07201
Large underbody clip, Toyota part number 90467-09227
Mounting screw, Toyota part number 90159-60498

Go to page 8 and 9 of this document to see the mid underbody panel. The one that is hanging down on your car is the panel immediately in front of this, but it attaches the same way.

So the dealer that couldn't see me Friday when I discovered the hanging front cover panel ended up installing the clips after I found I was missing all 7 and bought them from the parts counter later Friday night. They were the small plastic fasteners that pop in. The reason why they did it was because I bought the car from them and the passenger side post was not lining up correctly and I questioned the right part number and the parts person agreed it wasn't fitting correctly. The front cover needed to be folded under the mid covers then fastened in place. This may have been why the other fasteners came out so easily when I hit the branch.

I thought I was missing two but the entire panel was missing seven. I originally bought 5 so I had extras just in case but ended up getting all seven after the dealer offered to pop them in since I just bought the car and it was missing all of them.

I also got a full vehicle service report and the Electric Vehicle Traction Motor Assembly was replaced at 53,000 miles. Is this the motor? They list a price of only $98 for parts so that seemed low or covered mostly under warranty. The car had two other abnormal service requests. Once for Reprogram of drive inverter and one for when the car failed to startup upon pressing start. That part was $3800. Any idea what this may be? That replacement was completed at 11,200 miles.

That sounds like the Tesla gateway ECU. The price is about right, and a number of cars had failures at relatively low mileage.
