There's a socket at the place I contract at and the type is L15-20r.
It's live and available. Per the pdf below, it looks like using either 2 of any of the 3 legs (w,x,y) I would get the 240vac.........maybe?

Can anyone post the corrwct wiring diagram for me? I have both the L15-20p and the L6-30r blanks, just need the correct way to wire them up.
My EVSE is an Openevse and A Juicebox 60A if that means anything.

Thanks

I would expect that if you put a meter on x-y or y-z or x-z you will find 208VAC. The w,x,y is NEMA 14 split phase with neutral. NEMA L15 is 3-phase without neutral. The easiest way to use this socket is to make an adapter cable to whatever plug is on your EVSE. I assume the OpenEVSE has a L6-30 plug which is why you mentioned the receptacle.

The wiring is straight through with the same letters from L15-20p -> L6-30r X->X, Y->Y, G->G. Leave the Z unconnected. I don't think it could be any simpler except that you have to dial down the EVSE to 16A to preserve the 80% rule and not overload the 20A socket and circuit.

Why are you putting a 30 amp receptacle on a 20 amp circuit?

Thanks miimura. I will make the adpter this week and try it this weekend.

Tony, I should've further clarified that the socket is 20A but my extension cable is 30A with L6-30 ends. My intent is to use my Openevse and turn down the current to 16A.

Thanks
