Re: Cheapest RAV4 EV Toyota Extended Warranty

With my factory warranty running out this month, I'm considering a Titan Auto Powertrain Plus or Powertrain (regular?) warranty - any comments/suggestions welcome,

just before the extended warranty runs out - buy another?

Before the factory warranty ran out, I bought the extende factory warranty (from Gilroy), and when they repainted the body late (East Bay), I asked them to look into the rear 'whine' at certain speeds. They said it was fine, until I had it towed in this past summer for a new drive motor assy. In a f...

Re: Coolant issue? - all getting heated up on how/what to do

The language in my Platinum Warranty was very clear that it only provided $50/day for 5 days per repair. If you need a rental vehicle and you haven't yet collected your $250, you should try to arrange a low cost rental on your own and inquire how to get them to reimburse you. It is clear, but, give...

Re: Coolant issue? - all getting heated up on how/what to do

The rental car allowance in the Platinum ext. warranty was so little that I couldn't even rent a hybrid, much less an EV. I decided to use our "spare" vehicle instead. Well, my spare vehicle has been in the shop since February 1 (this year), and they appear to be throwing darts onto a cal...

Coolant issue? - all getting heated up on how/what to do

5 days ago, while driving some 35mph through a large park, >5 miles from town, with no cell reception, my vehicle shut off, with lots of dash things on, including the message: "Check EV System - Have Your Vehicle Checked by a Dealership Immediately" or some such. This morning the dealer ca...

Re: ALL POSTS - 12-volt battery replacement

I have a new “favorite” 12 volt battery for RAV4 EV: COSTCO # 850952 $87.99 Built by Interstate Model 27-DC ... hmm - I checked for it and could it be the costco #850982? I plan to try a new 'pure' sine wave converter tomorrow: giandel 1200W, and like the idea of removing the fuse. I bought the HF ...

Re: ALL POSTS - 12-volt battery replacement

The output of the Tesla supplied DC to DC converter used in RAV4 EV is 100 amps. Obviously, there’s a little power being consumed by the car, even if parked and the air conditioner or heating is turned off, so the net output may be 90-95 amps. Thanks - I saw a 200A fuse on the positive terminal. I ...

Re: ALL POSTS - 12-volt battery replacement

Just use some jump cables to the second battery and let it rip. I believe the RAV can supply up to 80 amps at 14 volts or 1120 watts. If the inverter cuts out for low voltage just reduce the load or the duty cycle. Thanks, the previous time I just used the RAV4 12V battery cables to charge my exter...

Re: ALL POSTS - 12-volt battery replacement

Hi, I should probably be in a different thread, but here is the scenario I need to get specs for: Let's assume I'll have a 1kW (compressors) load on my 2kW 12VDC to 120VAC converter. That converter will be hooked up to a 12VDC car battery that is being charged by the RAV4. I plan to turn on my RAV4 ...
