Dealership wants to give me a new Lease, what's the catch?

Clarification. Was your original lease 36 or 24 months? When you say purchase your lease and give your a new lease, Do you mean purchase your existing RAV4EV and give you a new one, or was it an extension of existing lease on same car?

    Entune / Android 4.3

I hadn't heard from my former RAV4EV in the three months since I returned it to Toyota. Yesterday I got an email from Entune saying it finished charging. Nice to know it is alive and well. I had deleted the app from my phone so I couldn't find out where it was located. I did log in today from...

Los Angeles Metro Express lanes free starting Feb. 24

I use the Express lanes at least once a week. I thought March 1 was the starting date. How are we so lucky to get it 5 days early?

Tesla battery shows no sign of range loss after 20K miles

If I remember correctly Kohler Controller is testing Panasonic cells that are very similar to the cells made by Panasonic for Tesla. My understanding is the Tesla cells have slightly different chemistry and possibly different electrolyte. It might not make a difference. I recently saw a video...

Seeking opinions re: sound cancelling insulation

I did my VW conversion with Dynamat. It was easy because the VW was stripped down with the door panels off and the seats out. I can't imagine how long it would take to do a RAV and then replace all the panels and carpeting.

Question about electrical adapter for JESLA

I have a vague recollection that the Tesla adaptors have diodes wired inside to tell either the car or the EVSE which amperage to use. Since you are using it on a RAV4EV which at the most draws 40 Amps I don't think you will have an issue. You might want to find out for sure and label it in case...

    Tesla model S UMC with J1772 & JESLA(tm) conversion

I thought I read that they pulled them back so they could fix them. There were some stories of melted or faulty connection between the adaptor and the UMC. Probably not a problem for the RAV because of the lower Amps.

Why did Toyota build Rav4 EV? Why hydrogen after 2014 ?

Yes, I think you are right about that. In addition, I think Hydrogen takes a lot of energy to make and I think it is made from Hydrocarbons. Follow the money.

    Traction Battery Replaced Thread

I feel Toyota's pain also. Those 29 days awaiting Tesla to deliver could easily contribute to a Lemon Law presumption that might cost Toyota quite a bit of money if they have to take the car back.

Lemon Law, Arbitration, Song-Beverly, Magnuson-Moss Warranty

We are renting a car for a month until we purchase a home. I am already tired of the gas engine in the rental. I still have the Smart ED when I need to refresh my EV grin. :D

Lemon Law, Arbitration, Song-Beverly, Magnuson-Moss Warranty

They used the mileage at the first repair instance which was 4300. When I turned the car in I had 13,950 miles on it so that works out to have cost me $0.16 per mile.

Lemon Law, Arbitration, Song-Beverly, Magnuson-Moss Warranty

They didn't offer a reason so anything is speculation on my part. EDIT: The release I signed stipulates that Toyota "disputes owners contentions" and goes on to say we have reached a compromise. That is pretty common language for a release so I will leave it at that. I am under no agreement of...

Lemon Law, Arbitration, Song-Beverly, Magnuson-Moss Warranty

This morning I meet an agent for Toyota at my local dealer to transfer my RAV4EV to Toyota. The is a result of request for arbitration that I filed in September. I received an offer from Toyota a few days before the hearing was to take place on October 22nd. It is a fair settlement. I will...

    12V Output Limit

Well that wouldn't be the first time Kevin misinformed me. LOL. That is good news for those that put a trickle charger on their 12v battery when on vacation. Just to clarify, is it your understanding that if the car has finished charging but the J1772 plug is still in the car, the 12v battery...
