If he doesn't know about evnut.com he needs to be informed. We drove a 2002 RAV4-EV for 123,000 miles before I traded it in for a 2012 RAV4-EV. I think the only thing the cars share are their names.

Thanks! When I went searching last week I couldn't find the rates. When I called the PG&E Solar Hotline they said the rates were not available and the person was confident that E-6 was the better choice. BTW FWIW I didn't get my letter from PG&E about the rates changing until a couple of days...
You probably want to E-6 at least in the short term.. It will close to new enrollments on March 1, 2016. The rates for ETOU-A and ETOU-B are not available yet so you can't do a proper comparison. There is a chance that EV-A will be better. In short run a rate comparison in case E-6 is the...
I finally got my unit configured for the RAV4-EV. The one hitch is the Tesla gateway doesn't provide power the diag port. Right now to power the device a Y-cable is used and plugged into the 12V outlet that is conveniently nearby. However because the adapter is now always powered it doesn't...
I also have a LEAF and RAV4-EV and I use end charging timers. I think I had one missed charged in the RAV4-EV early on (I think the 31st of the month bug). Since then both vehicles finish pretty consistently. I simply choose an end time that is adjusted for the early finish that they both...

Took my car in for routine maintenance and asked them listen to it to see if the whine was excessive. They told me they were opening a case for it. It's 2012 which I bought in May of 2013.

I have VIN# 533, 2012 that I bought (lousy lease deals at that time only sales incentives) in May of 2013. So far it has been very good. Toyota of Palo Alto updated the car to the then current software when I got it and has kept it current since. The only real issue I've was the timer bug in...
Forgot the other obvious penalty for short drives is basic climate control. There is generally a little more energy spent on climate control at the beginning of drive to either warm up or cool down the cabin. If the drive is short then that cost is amortized over a small number of miles.

When I replaced with my water heater with a tankless unit I planned to adding a solar water heater. I had the plumber install valves for it so it would be easy. But Every time I would look at the numbers I couldn't make it work. I tend to agree with this sentiment...
