Yet another 2013 Rav4EV on the market

If the dealer doesn't know that means they're not participating in the program. They would have to go to the effort to register with the IRS program to offer the tax credit on used EV sales.

Alert DI_w115: Drive unit internal temperature imbalance detected

Based on the story you told, it's pretty clear that the coolant lines were not purged properly and that led to some thermal abnormalities. However, it's not clear from your story whether you touched the battery coolant loop or just the big one that includes the DU and charger. Clearly the...

My RAV4EV came to a GRINDING halt today

The most likely failure point based on your description is the output spline on the rotor. I had my drive unit replaced the first time because of bearing whine. The second time was because the rebuilt unit that was installed developed a thunk during torque reversal. The diagnosis was this spline...

    Fuel Bars Question

Start the trip with the NAV showing 75 miles to the destination and 80 miles on the GOM. Arrive at destination with 15 miles on the GOM. The 5 mile buffer (extra range) grew to 15 miles during the course of the trip. The actual vehicle range for this example trip is closer to 90 miles even...

    Fuel Bars Question

When driving longer distances I also put the next stop in the navigation and watch the miles to destination compared to the GOM range remaining. Usually I start with a buffer and watch whether the buffer is getting larger or smaller as the trip progresses.

Pursine inverter battery tap (+) and (-) for my Rav4EV

I just re-read this thread from the beginning and saw someone asked about the tray that I mounted the breaker and shunt to. I designed and 3D printed it myself. I still have the STL file if anyone is interested.

    B - Mode

My main point was about efficiency. If you have to slow down anyway, using B mode in the EV will capture as much energy as possible back into the traction battery. If you slow down with the same deceleration in D mode, you will be blending regen and the friction brakes. As long as the B mode...

Pursine inverter battery tap (+) and (-) for my Rav4EV

I have done exactly what you propose and it works great. Be sure to install circuit protection between the battery and inverter. I also installed a shunt meter, so I could monitor the DC power usage. The one thing that you need to be aware of is the 12 volt charging voltage when the car is in...

    Trailer/transport Rav e

Does your car move under its own power? ie. can it be driven onto a transporter? If it has to be pulled onto a trailer or transporter it usually falls into another category more like towing, which is more expensive.

    B - Mode

Your video is about hybrids. The EV is not a hybrid, so it doesn't apply at all.

RAV4 EV dead DC 12V battery

The most likely problem is the battery contactors in the battery pack. Toyota won't open the pack to replace them. One way to confirm this diagnosis is to listen when you start the car. You should hear the familiar click/thunk when you turn it on and the READY indicator comes on the dash. If the...

ALL POSTS - Heater Failed - Service Bulletin TSB 0111-14

Be sure that you re-installed the service plug under the front passenger seat correctly. If it's not, the car won't go READY and won't charge.
