Cheapest RAV4 EV Toyota Extended Warranty

I just don't need it. I'll probably sell my car around the 3 year mark. Waiting to see how the Volt 2.0 looks in person (and the price!).

Cheapest RAV4 EV Toyota Extended Warranty

I bought the 7 year/100,000 warranty from Toby this morning. He was very easy to deal with. I called others and they kept telling me they couldn't sell out of state. One guy even told me he has people fly in to his dealership to sign the paperwork. I thought that was odd. I mentioned to...

Spotted my twin at LADWP parking lot today

Good to know! Thanks for the tip.

    $2500 CA Rebate Approval Letter

August 26th approval letter for me. It does say no more than 60 days so i'm not expecting anything until October sometime. Then if it comes earlier, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Irvine Rav4 EV Mini Meet 09-14-2013

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Bummed I missed it, but I'm gone a lot on weekends. Maybe next time!

    Ext Temperature on HVAC Display

OK, that's good to know. It's probably just a bad part then. I'll have the service dept. check it out on my next service. Thanks for your reply!

    Rav4EV sighting

Spotted a Shoreline Blue one today in Fountain Valley in front of Panda Express. Looked brand new with Carson Toyota plates on it still.

    Rav4EV sighting

That may have been me. I've gone down to charge at the Hyatt a few times.

From Los Angeles to ???? - Road trips w/ 1 hr stop to charge

I've taken mine to Palm Springs a couple times, including later today. No problem getting there or back with plenty of miles left if full when you leave. I usually don't even have a low battery warning yet, but I drive the speed limit both ways with cruise control. Typically 65 on the 91/60...

Free BEV parking at Long Beach Airport

That's pretty cool ufojoe, thanks for the update! I wish LAX would do this. I agree, not sure the airport is an optimal place for charging unless you're only there short term. Just doesn't make sense to me.

SoCal EV Meet Up Saturday, June 27, 8am - 11am, Santa Ana

Looks like you all had a great time. Too bad I was unable to make it down.

Free BEV parking at Long Beach Airport

I read that too, which got me searching for other local airports with the same offer. Unfortunately, I didn't find any, but since I'm only 1 mile away from LGB, I'll try and use it as often as I can. I wonder how people handle the Blink chargers when traveling. People plug in for a week to...

    Standard Range Decreasing

I'm getting about 139 mi on a full charge. It's perfect for getting me to Palm Springs and back. Seems to use more miles going home as I think there's more uphill driving (slightly).

    Breaker Amperage

Appreciate all the great tips. The manual says no extension cord charging, but if you have the proper gauge, I assume it's ok?

    Breaker Amperage

Thanks Dsinned. We were actually trying to prepare for the future in case we purchase a 40A EVSE down the road. I have that PDF file from Schneider, but don't think the specs there can handle 40A. Thanks again.

    Breaker Amperage

Yes, sorry if I've confused the situation. The original idiot electrician in Palm Springs will no longer be doing the job. I'm bringing a friend down to help me out instead. He's also a licensed electrician.

    Breaker Amperage

Not a bad idea. I think the whole EVSE thing really confused him.

    Breaker Amperage

Change of plans! I'm taking my electrician friend with me and he's going to install the 50A circuit/breaker and NEMA 14-50 outlet! Should be dialed in. I think I'll have him upgrade the plug on the Schneider to 8 gauge 14-50 as well while I have him captive. Mike

    Breaker Amperage

It sounds like he thought I needed a 30A outlet. Would that make enough difference to confuse him (or make him right)? Or is he still way off base? Thanks. Mike

    Breaker Amperage

As suspected, I think there may be confusion and he didn't really understand what I was trying to convey. Here is his response: "Just a note according to National Electrical code section 310 15 A a 40 amp breaker can not be installed to a thirty amp outlet . In some cases where A/C is involved...
