Here's a link to a new "high tech" battery backup product for USB powered, mobile devices. With an auxilary USB port in the RAV4 EV, I think this would be a good accessory to have in the car for cell phone and/or laptop users constantly on the go. I like the level of built-in information provided by this device on its OLED display. Most other similar products only have a few LED status lights and nothing as sophisticated as a uP based monitoring system to tell you about battery capacity and what not. According to this website's FAQ, it can remain in storage for up to 6 months and still hold a charge. The only other time I feel the symptoms of "range anxiety" is when I am traveling out of town with my cell phone, and know I am about to run out of "juice". I only wish the RAV EV has anywhere near as much detailed instrumentation about its onboard battery pack.

For $8.79 I got this on ebay. That includes shipping. Works fairly well and extends my iphone 4s charge by 60%.

I do like the smart readout in the video.

Thanks for the tip "mhkp"!

Just about the least expensive iPhone external battery pack and case combination I've seen yet. However, 1900mAh capacity is not the most I've seen in this formfactor.

Can't beat the price, so I think I'll order one from ebay as a spare.
