For Sale: Blizzard white 2012 Toyota RAV4 EV. 37,000 miles, single owner, non-smoker, great shape inside and out. Aftermarket "JdeMO" high speed charger installed by quickchargepower.com. New Michelin Defender tires from Costco installed last year. Onboard vehicle charger replaced in March 2019, and new traction motor installed in May 2019. Heater does not work and there is a small nick on the windshield and small scuffs on the fender. Love this car but need to let it go. $16,000 or best offer. PM or e-mail aprakash07@gmail.com for pictures.

Location (LA, I'm guessing)?

Does the car have an extended warranty?

Orange County. I exhausted most of the extended warranty in replacing the traction motor, but a third party warranty might be available.

Happy to say I was able to get a transferable extended 4 year 48,000 mile warranty through AUL.

Congrats on getting a new warranty!

Can you tell us a little more about it - what is 'AUL', what is the warranty expected to cover, any track record on the company paying out, where / how did you get it, and what was the cost?

Sorry for the delay, was waiting to get the details. I have the Reserve coverage (https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/136908/fil ... 4959827070). I bought it from Tustin Nissan, $2200. 4 years, 48000 miles, $250 deductible, transferable right away. I will post an image of the exclusion section as soon as I can figure it out, but this AUL warranty seems to be pretty good based on the reviews I have seen online- comprehensive, payment is quick, not much hassle, etc.

I have heard that some of these third party warranties won't pay out to fix your car. When they get the bill for $10k+ in repairs that are supposed to be covered, they refund your original plan purchase price and don't fix the car. You really won't know until you need it.

Maybe, maybe not. The reviews I read suggested that the warranty was honored much of the time. Plus, I feel much better having an extended warranty for this car than not having one. Looks like third party warranties are uncommon for RAV4 EVs, but if anyone has experience, it would be good to know.
