I would be way more interested in getting more RAV4 batteries if there was a way to use them in a V2H solution as well. Otherwise, it would be this or a couple of Powerwalls for the house.
I am interested and like the idea of a longer range RAV4 too. I already have the JdeMo installed and as higher amp chargers become more plentiful, charging times will fall too. Like the others price is a factor. Since I only drive for Uber/Lyft part-time (15hrs wk max and not every week) it...
This is way I bought the RAV4 EV over every other EV. My main criteria was that I wanted to drive roundtrip from Sunnyvale/Cupertino to SF without worry about a charge. I have done that several times (once even without extend charging). Between Uber/Lyft, I never know where a I might be headed...
Yep, did the exact same installation yesterday on my Ravvy. Found it too tight for two people installed it myself. So after installing the passenger-side, I ended installing it myself using a combination of items to pry the driver's side out just enough to put the front bolt in after which the...
That is what I thought too when we upgraded from the 60A to 200A after moving in in 2002. But this being a Silicon Valley home (and built in '49 so still got some knob/tube wiring), I already have 5kW solar up on the roof (and still have a $100/mo bill when averaged out) and two 125A subpanels...
I was just looking at my house wiring and the extra circuit I have available (without out adding more or swapping out) is our old oven circuit. That is a 8ga (8-8-8-8 Alu) w/40A-dp that I could swing over to the front of the garage and throw a outlet on for Level2 Charger.
From what I see...
Why couldn't someone else here with knowledge make an adapter that does this instead of waiting for Tony to make one? Sounds like Dsinned knows what is needed.
@Tony - Will you have any there for sale if I do not win? I hope to have my current car sold by then so I would have the funds available (otherwise, might have to wait until the CA rebate check).
As a proud new owner of a Rav4 EV (thanks Dianne). Which should I get first, a Leviton EVB40-PST or a Jesla? Both cost the same and need to plug into the same outlet. Seems to me the Jesla would be better since it is portable but, I may be missing something.
Any advice for this new owner...
So, how do we register to win? And will you have any there for sale? I do hope to have my new Rav4 EV delivered up here from Dianne Whitmire by Friday (Docs sent back to her over the weekend).
