There is one coming from Jim Lentz, CEO of Toyota’s North American region:
Toyota sees battery-electric vehicles as viable only in “a select way, in short-range vehicles that take you that extra mile, from the office to the train, or home to the train, as well as being used on large [corporate]...
@ Reeler
Touche  This makes me worried if mine is on its way to a failure...
@ Pennsylvania RAV
Sorry to hear what happened. Let us know if Toyota will do what they are supposed to.
I got hit with the same message today after cold soaked for 8 hours. Under -1 F condition I tried to test the max acceleration under turtle mode. It will allow me to go up to 2 bars above the notch in acceleration meter where it turns from green to white. On a slightly uphill highway, my RAV4...

I agree with some of your points but same argument can be made with GM's reaction to EV1 as well. There are some minor points differentiate between what they do but you can say corporations are inherently evil.
If madcow and others want to pool our fund together to sue Toyota then I am up for it. They have been stone walling my motor noise issue for months. Shipping it would be at least $1500 per round trip, might as well blow it on forcing them to do what they are supposed to.
Don't feel bad. I thought it was an easy choice with the out-of-state purchase incentives back in July. Only to realize the incentives was meant for the ~30%+ chance that you will have to pay to ship the car back to west coast for motor/EV system related services. ;)
What I hope Toyota realizes is that by pushing early adopters off, they are also getting word of mouth advice against buying any more Toyotas (when they are asked by their acquaintances about their unusual Toyota EVs.)
(mods, how do you resize this image?)
here is what I was told by my dealer in western PA. Tech told me the corporate actually called upper management and told them to be hands off of RAV4 EVs. "we won't get a dime from Toyota if we touched that car." that very same day they asked me to return...
indeed, I agree as a used car purchase situation. But part of the valuation in the used car has the backing of manufacturer warranty baked in. Given the Toyota corporate hostile attitude toward this model, I wonder what that would do to our used valuation as a Gray market item outside of...
Maybe personally present to the service center? Menlo Park service center and Dallas service center gave me this statement over the phone "we don't sell UMCs unbundled." All the while Tony has been able to buy 2 unbundled UMC from them. Or you can order online for the bundle as I did.
