Hi, I'm selling my RAV4 EV since I just moved to a multi-unit complex that's relatively old and I no longer have a means to charge my car.
It's a 2012 model with 18K miles.

I've had my RAV4 EV's motor replaced at the Walnut Creek Toyota Service Center.
They kept my vehicle for a couple of days, and replaced the motor with no issues at all. It's quiet as a church mouse now! :D
Wish I knew about the coupon though! Oh wells!
I also would recommend them. They do...
I can ask the dealer if they have the sound file and see if they are willing to send me a copy...no guarantees though. But never hurts to ask.
I'll let you know what they say...
Well I got my car back from Walnut Creek Toyota yesterday after they replaced the traction motor. It is now quiet as a church mouse!
They also updated firmware.
Here's what the paperwork states:
Posting this so that others can see what was done to my RAV4 EV. And to see if anyone sees...

Update - the traction motor is what Toyota is replacing (at least that's what the service manager stated). It's currently in the...

I believe it was Dan who test drove my car and a new one for comparison. He was surprisingly honest about not having too much experience with the EV as they don't have too many opportunities to explore the car more. He also mentioned there's another guy who's also EV certified, but...
vips,
I just took my RAV4 EV into the Toyota of Walnut Creek as well today for the same audibly loud humming/whining sound.
Very happy to hear that you found the techs helpful at the dealership. Thank you for that feedback...makes me feel relatively happy...at least knowing that someone else...
Thank you very much for the feedback and suggestions! Very much appreciated! :)
My EV is a used 2012 that I purchased, but I do plan on keeping it for a while.
Sounds like I'd need to do both the layer and insulation. I'll check out Raamaudio.com as well.
Questions though: how would I...
Hello everyone!
I recently bought a used RAV4 EV 2012 model and am loving it! :D
I have noticed though, that because the car is so quiet, I hear a lot of the road noise during high speeds on the freeway.
Was searching around Amazon and came across the Dynamat sound deadening material...
