My experience was that it took a week to get the problem diagnosed and 3 weeks to get the part. This seems to happen quite frequently so maybe they're getting faster at fixing it. But I would be prepared for a long wait. Sorry :-(

Sounds similar to what mine did a few weeks before the "melt down". Who is your dealer? Try not to let them keep it more than a day or so because you may not get it back for a month!

I'm curious how to tell what version firmware I have. My Navigation level is VB503150 so I know I'm not at the highest level there. My car has been at Toyota for 4 weeks waiting for a new motor. I picked it up on Friday (1/31/14). Would they have updated the firmware when they replaced the motor?

Not consistent with my occurrence but certainly not an impossibility.

I asked my service adviser if I could take it home and drive it till the parts come in and he said no. I guess they are worried about liability if I stall in traffic and cause an accident.
