Hello to the Remaining Rav4 EV Owners Out There

Hello: We took the plunge 10 days ago and bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5. After a ton of research, this was the best car for us. The first charge to 100% (Level 2 at home) got us 318 miles and the second time it charged up to 329 miles! We had hoped to keep it, but ultimately decided to trade in...

Who still owns a RAV4 EV?

Hi Janeva: We traded ours in for the Ioniq 5. We had almost 148,000 miles on it and it needed new brakes. We might have been able to get a little more at a Carmax or facsimile, but went ahead and took the offer from the dealer. Cheers and good luck with the Ioniq!

Who still owns a RAV4 EV?

We said goodbye to our wonderful RAV4EV last Friday. After a ton of research, we decided on a Hyundai Ioniq 5. It's really an impressive car and the first charge got us 318 miles! Got a great deal on a 2024 and plan on keeping it for a long time. Farewell, fellow RAV4 owners! It was a great...

    Still going?

We are the original owners of a 2013 Silver, which now has 147,000 miles! Motor was replaced twice, once at 78,000 miles and the second time at 89,000. Both under warranty, thank goodness, because the first bill was $12,000 and the second was over $27,000 and took a month to complete. The car...

    Reduced Guesstimated Mileage During Quarantine

Thank you for your replies! I actually took it to the dealer for a check, just in case. Everything was normal. After the reboot, the dealer charged it back up to 125 and it seems back to 100+ on the GOM. I'm assuming the lack of driving for three months now caused the drop. I'm way too lazy...

    Reduced Guesstimated Mileage During Quarantine

After not driving regularly for almost three months now, my fully charged GOM mileage went from 100-120 to only 85. Is anybody having the same issue? My regular drive was 50 miles roundtrip to work in stop-and-go LA traffic. I have 110,000 miles on my car after almost 7 years.

Thumping or "snapping" sound upon acceleration/deceleration

Great news! We finally took the car in and the diagnosis was to "retorque axle bolts." That was it and there was no charge. :D :D :D I also was having an issue with the yellow caution triangle with the exclamation point appearing with no corresponding message. The tech put the car online...

Thumping or "snapping" sound upon acceleration/deceleration

Tony: Do you know what the estimated cost is to fix this? (cringe) Thank you again

Thumping or "snapping" sound upon acceleration/deceleration

Tony: Thank you so much for the reply. I live in the San Fernando Valley and bought my car from Bob Smith in La Crescenta, north of Glendale. I am very confident in their EV experts (though we haven't had any major issues other than the recall). By the way, add me to the group that plans on...

Thumping or "snapping" sound upon acceleration/deceleration

I have a 2013 with 45,000 miles on it. (I know, I know, but love the car and I drive a LOT). I am experiencing a "thumping" or "snapping" sound during acceleration/deceleration. I can almost feel it vibrate through the floor when it happens. It used to be infrequent, but has become worse...

    Check EV System warning message

Update: The car was at the dealer for one week and received the required part. Until this recall, this car had NO issues in 32,000 miles, which I proudly told all who'd listen. Has anyone had any further problems once the car was returned?

    Check EV System warning message

I am so grateful for this forum. I had no idea about the recall until I read about it here. Last week, we checked with our dealer, Bob Smith Toyota in La Crescenta, and they told us that it would be 6-8 weeks before the parts came in and the letter would not be mailed until that time...

Please share experience obtaining LADWP rebates

Hi Rav4EVoom: I just happened to be perusing the forum and came across your post from October. Did you get a resolution to your LADWP rebate? We are in the Valley and have had our car since August 2013. We went through the installation and rebate process without too much drama. My husband...

    Rav4EV sighting

A few weeks ago, I saw a white one turn onto Olympic Boulevard from Purdue Street in West Los Angeles. We both went north on the 405 into the Valley. ;)

    Rav4EV sighting

Saw a silver one on the NB 405 in the San Fernando Valley just north of the 101 last week. Unfortunately, he had no HOV stickers, so I zoomed past him in the carpool lane. Hope you get yours soon! ;)

    Rav4EV sighting

Had two more sightings! One last weekend, a white EV pulling into the Granada Hills Target parking lot. . . hi! Then today (June 15) on the 210 Eastbound in La Canada, we spotted another white one with a bike rack at about 1:00 p.m. This only makes four sightings in the year we've had the car.

    Rav4EV sighting

On Saturday, May 3, saw a white one being charged at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. Was hoping the owner would return so we could chat! But no luck this time . . .

World's Largest Electric Vehicle Gathering, August 9, 2014

Tony: We are excited to attend this rally! What kind of charging is available at this type of event? Are there mobile or portable devices? How does a large gathering like this handle cars that need charging? Thanks!
