The two NRG / eVgo two public DC recharging plans are:

$4.95 per session and $0.20 minute
$14.95 monthly, $0.10 minute ($3 per thirty minute session, when the machine times out.)

Using the Toyota RAV4 EV with "JdeMO" and zero at home charging (apartment dweller, university student, etc), I compare to an equivalent RAV4 gasoline car and a Prius. I find that if a RAV4 EV were only recharged at NRG / eVgo DC chargers on the $14.95 plan, and drove 1000 miles per month for 100 months, the total energy cost would be:

Fees: 100 months * $14.95 = $1495 ($0.01495 per mile)

Electricty costs: 40kW average charge sped / 60 minutes = 0.666 kWh delivered per minute * 3 miles per kWh consumption rate = 2 miles delivered per minute @ $0.10 per minute is $0.05 per mile (yes, about the same to "Just-Drive-The-Prius(TM)). So, 1000 miles monthly * $0.05 = $50 monthly * 100 months = $5000

$6495 total transportation energy cost for 100,000 miles of driving ($0.0695 per mile) with the Toyota RAV4 EV equipped with JdeMO using only NRG / eVgo quick charging on the $14.95 monthly plan plus $0.10 per minute.

The 48 mpg Prius fuel cost per mile:

$0.0417 with $2 per gallon gasoline
$0.0625 with $3 per gallon gasoline
$0.0834 with $4 per gallon gasoline
$0.0960 with $5 per gallon gasoline

Of course, the RAV4 EV is a much larger, faster, more capable car, plus never go to a gas station, no oil changes, no smog checks, no camshaft belts, no spark plugs, no transmission or cooling system flushes, almost maintenance free.... rotate tires, check windshield washer fluid. Zero vehicle emissions, quiet, smooth, powerful, roomy.

a) All cars include Toyota extended 125,000 mile warranty for 84 months in the price
b) Gasoline cost $3.75 per gallon average over the period
c) Electricity cost at home is $0.12 per kWh, with 3 miles/kWh consumption rate, $0.04/mile
d) Public charging at DC fast charge is $0.0695 per mile
e) Prius 48mph, RAV4 V6 at 22.5mpg, RAV4 EV at 3 miles/kWh
f) Used auto values are trade-in value at 100,000 miles using a 2006 model year from KBB.com
g) Since no 2006 RAV4 EV exists, my guess value is $20,000
h) Toyota hydrogen car "Murai" is "free" fuel at $500 monthly lease for 100 months

Don't forget to add the cost of an extended warranty for the RAV or the cost of ownership after year 3 could double the cost of the car

For $35,000, let's just say that includes an extended 125,000 mile warranty for 84 months, and the same is true of the other Toyota comparison vehicles.

I calculated that if you QC more than 3 times per month, it is cheaper to go with the $14.95/month subscription (you will have to commit for a year in advance!) and cheaper charge rate.

Since I am charging using ToU and it is only $0.11/kWh, I am on the $4.95/session plus $0.20/minute plan (for now)

Yesterday I charged at a EVGO ABB charging station:
That one supplies (supposedly because you can't check) 120 amp vs the 115 amp for the nissan made chargers.

Total costs was: $4.95 + $0.20x30=$10.95 which is $0.586/kWh
So 5.3 times more expensive than @home, but a hack of a lot faster and im my case I needed it to get back home .
Did a 171 mile total trip yesterday

I did 215 miles, mostly at 75mph, with a $6 charge with NRG ($1/hr on 30 amps).

37kW (18.66kWh delivered in 30 minutes) seems a little slower than 120 amps.

I got 15.8 kWh a in 24 minutes from the local Nissan dealer, cost $0.82. I charge there to 56%, so I get home at 50%.

15.8 kWh for less than a dollar?
How is that possible?

From all I've read so far, Toyota will only give them 3 years so 36 months of free fuel.
That will give the comparison an unknown change.
They claim the costs will be more than a current gallon of gasoline.

From one of the articles I found:

The energy content of the 5 kilograms of hydrogen fuel is roughly 165 kilowatt-hours, or almost double the capacity of the largest battery pack in a production electric car. That's the Tesla Model S with the 85-kWh battery.
Tesla gets ranges of 265 to 270 miles from that battery, whereas the Mirai is expected to get 250 to 300 miles from its fuel, though the EPA hasn't issued a final rating yet. That implies a fuel cell of slightly more than 50-percent efficiency, plus other losses in the system.
