I was surprised to find out that the new Rav4 2015 has blind spot monitoring. I was looking on eBay and I saw the right and left mirrors for sale as well as the control unit. I just wondered if it would be possible to modify our mirrors. Probably not worth it. I know there are some kits on the market, just not sure how good they are. I like the idea of blind spot monitoring as we have three cars and I get used to one then all of a sudden I am driving another. Then I need to adjust real quick. On my NSX I was able to purchase a mirror that replaced the glass in my OEM units. The glass has a bluish tint but more important is concave I guess so the field of vision is much wider. The only downside is that everything appears further away. I would not mind if is was possible to either replace the glass or add a convex mirror. I don't particularly like the stick on circles that are sold. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Interesting idea, got me thinking about it.

I found an aftermarket solution

Since I think the visibility is not a problem on the Rav, I probably won't do this mod.

Also, I just have the side mirrors angled to see the blind spots, which is what seems to be the current recommendation instead of looking straight back.
