Nope. Toyota sold the Rav4 EV like the compliance car it was, so it never had a chance. Had Toyota gone all-in on a more robust Rav4 EV (200-mile range, actual 4-wheel drive for the Rav"4", etc.), it would have been a best seller, years before the Model X or Model 3 were released. Instead...

I agree - Toyota really blew it. How many people would have bought a 200-mile Rav4 EV for half (or even a third) of the price of a Model X? I would have been one of them!

Not selling - we turned in the Rav4 EV at the end of its lease. Car has gone bye-bye...

I didn't mean that Toyota should just take the battery out of the Rav4 EV and put it in to an existing RX450h frame! Obviously Lexus would have to re-engineer the car to lose weight and increase aerodynamics. If Tesla can get 250 miles out of a 90 kWh battery for the 3-ton Model X, for sure...

That doesn't happen in our 2012 Rav4 EV.

Great pictures, Incredulocious! I'm surprised at how similar the heights are for each car. I've been telling my wife that she's probably going to be sitting lower in the Model X than she has been in her Rav4 EV, but it looks like I was wrong. The Model X looks short, but I guess it isn't!

Toyota killed the Rav4 EV, never made a Lexus version of it, and the Prius Plug-in is a complete joke. So perhaps Toyota isn't ignoring EVs, but it's doing its best to undermine them. Luckily, its best sucks...

Was firmware v.103 released after September? Toyota is dreaming if it thinks I or anyone in my family will ever buy one of their cars again. Can't wait for my Tesla Model X to arrive Q1 next year!
