Pretty good deal on a 6/3 8/1 extension cord with nice Camco 14-50 plugs:

You can get SOOW and 14-50 connectors at Home Depot or Lowe's. You can skip the neutral, if you are using it for EV charging and save a few more bucks.

Are you sure about this? Last time I looked (a month ago or so), they didn't carry 6 AWG SOOW cable at these stores (at least in my area).

Appreciate all the great tips. The manual says no extension cord charging, but if you have the proper gauge, I assume it's ok?

Ok to Toyota (who will get sued when things go bad)? Of course not.

But, OK to safe, reasonable people, of course.

40 amps continuous need 6 gauge, unless you're going a long distance, then a bigger conductor is required.

My Home Depot has 100 foot rolls of 6/3 SOOW; $348 without plugs.

Three 30 foot 6/3 8/1 Camping World extension cords with the Camco style 14-50 plug/receptacles is $172.99 * 3 = $518.97

6 of those CAMCO Model#: 55255 male / 55353 female are $20 each, for $120 extra and I have to build it.
