I'm looking to install a dash cam. Actually, I'm looking at a 2-channel (front and rear) dash cam. The model that I've settled on is the BlackVue DR650GW-2CH. It's a little expensive, but has everything I'm looking for. This system has a parking mode and can record if motion is detected even when the car is off, but it requires an always on connection. It has something called a Power Magic Pro which will prevent it from running your 12V battery dead.
I'm wondering if anyone has wired anything to a constant power source inside the car. I tried looking at the fuse boxes to see if there were any spaces in there for me to use but I'm not sure if there is or not without pulling a whole bunch of stuff out. I also noticed that there are some fuse tap add a circuit type of products that just tap off of an existing fuse but I'm not sure that would work since one of the inside fuse boxes has a cover and the other one looks like there wouldn't be any space for the extra hardware that extends from the top of the add a fuse type of products.
