Here is an article on Motor hum in the Model S http://seekingalpha.com/article/2225563-increasing-hum-poses-problems-for-tesla and one on the Tesla forums http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/anyone-who-has-6075-mph-hum-please-respond-here Sounds like there have been a variety of fixes from replacing the motor to just replacing motor mounts.

I've been noticing a hum that starts right at 62 mph but seems to fade away after I get close to 70 mph. Mine almost sounds like something resonating but it's relatively quiet and getting it serviced for me would be a huge pain so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now.

Anyone notice something like this? Sounds like a minor case of the motor issues that have hit a few people here (like Tony).

It will get louder. Yes, of course the same motor / gear box / inverter assembly in Model S has the same issues.

Our Model S has the motor hum that apperesd after 10k miles. Have an appointment at the service center to remedy. We have only 1k miles on the RAV4, we'll see if this will also become an issue.

Telsa is committed to make it right in a timely manner, not sure if Toyota has the same phillophy.
