I have the same charger and haven't had any issues. As mentioned above, the Aerovironment charger is listed as one of Toyota's approved EVSE units.

One thing to note is that the v8.6 PCB boards can take the v8.7 branch firmware, just need to override the 120v current settings. Unsure if the v8.9 branch is backwards compatible.

Learned the hard way that the H&R Block Deluxe 2013 software still doesn't support IRS Form 8911. TurboTax does interestingly enough. Think 2013 will be the last year to claim the EVSE 30% tax credit as well.

Got the Check EV System warning message today on mine. Drove it to work in the morning. After getting off from work, drove to my local dealership. Interestingly enough, when they started the vehicle, the error message was gone. Such is life I guess. :roll:

Even though they're not available now, I got the impression that a couple of people have successfully been able to get the free chargers (ahem... EVSE) by having their dealership apply when they become available.

I'm having this issue as well. I usually hold the lever open with my wallet wedged between the lever and floor. Tap on the cover a couple times and it opens then.

If you need to check the firmware on the car, follow the steps in this guide: T-SB-0082-13 There seems to be at least one firmware update after the one mentioned in the TSB above.
