Residence Inn hotel
33711 Camino Capistrano
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675
(949) 443-3600

The good news for Nissan LEAF and Mitsubishi iMiev drivers is that the destination has a Fuji CHAdeMO (ChargePoint) charger waiting. For others, there isn't much nearby charging except a Nissan dealer across the street with J1772 30 amp service.

This EVent is in support of the BC2BC-2013 http://www.AllElectricVehicleRally.org as the rally cars will be arriving from Canada on the last leg of their 1500 mile journey. Just bring a smile.

Great photos on the last meet. Sad that I couldn't make it. Great news for us Northies on the new venue. I should be able to make it there and back on a standard charge.

We had folks with the Rav4 do exactly that! We also had several Nissan LEAFs from up there, too (the DC CHAdeMO charger in San Juan Capistrano is well used).

We have a tentative plan for the San Francisco area, but nothing concrete. We still need a sponsor there!!

4-8pm, Sunday, July 7, 2013

Expect to park across the street (Doheny Park Road), to the southeast on the corner of Domingo Ave. There is not enough room for the amount of cars I expect on the restaurant / bar side of the street. The dirt parking area and adjoining paved parking is part of the gigantic church that is there across the street, and we will be able to keep all the cars together.

I have invited the Tesla Club of Orange County, who will be attending as part of their regular monthly meeting. Naturally, the Los Angeles and San Diego Tesla Clubs have been invited. Of course, all the local LEAF drivers have been invited, as well as other models, and finally, our EV industry friends who are always invited that help make EV's possible.

The BC2BC-2013 First Place overall winner will hopefully be crowned at this event. The top finishing Tesla Model S driver will receive an $869 value Teslaccessories Center Console Insert. We will have this at the event to try out in YOUR Tesla Model S. Currently, as I write this in Santa Rosa, California at the beginning of Stage 3, the number 43 Tesla Model S team of Jack Bowers and Georg Kuhnke are in first place of the 9 entries this year.

This EVent is sponsored by EVoasis. If you need a room for the night (particularly for our tired and potentially alcohol saturated rally participants), I can recommend nearby:

Residence Inn hotel
33711 Camino Capistrano
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675
(949) 443-3600

The good news for Nissan LEAF and Mitsubishi iMiev drivers is that this hotel has a Fuji CHAdeMO (ChargePoint card) DC quick charger waiting. For others, there isn't much nearby charging except a Nissan dealer across the street with J1772 30 amp service. I do not expect the Tesla Supercharger station to be operational by Sunday, but they are UP AND RUNNING in Hawthorne, Buellton, Atascadero and Gilroy up the 101 freeway from San Francisco.

This will be a big one, so bring a smile!!

Hi Tony,

If it is alright with you, I'll be there at 3PM so I can fully charge by 8PM to head back to LA. I can lend you a hand to set up. Can I offer to bring some food/refreshments? Fresh Cookies? Meats? Drinks?

Sure, we can plug you in to 40 amps. We don't need anything, but you're welcome to bring some drinks or snacks. Cookies sound good.

We'll park you car in my garage, and use the Clipper Creek.

We should have one or more electric motorcycle / bicycle dealers displaying their wares at my house. Bring your riding gear if you want a test ride. NO BOOZE AND BIKES !!!!

For folks coming from LA / Orange / Ventura / Riverside / San Bernadino counties, please reserve one of the NEMA 14-50's at my house if you need it.

There is an offer for the use of the EVSE at a house in Rancho Bernardo for those coming from out of town for this event.

The house is located 0.5 mile off the Rancho Bernardo Road exit on I-15. He would be happy to shuttle people between my house and his while your vehicles is charging.

Hello Tony,
I'm new here. I am confirming to be at your event on Saturday, August 24th from 5-8pm. May I take you up on the offer on using the EVSE (0.5) miles away? I'll be coming from Laguna Niguel (63 miles) on a full extended charge. My foot can be heavy at times, so I'll need (1.5) to (2) hours of charge to get me back home. I plan on being in the area by 4:30pm, that way I'm done charging by 6pm/6:30pm (maybe sooner), and the others can use. Upon arrival, I can actually walk to your place from Rancho Bernardo Road, which will allow me to show up as scheduled. Please let me know how to coordinate. Thank you very much.

That particular one is more than 0.5 miles from my house... more like 5 miles. I have a neighbor with a Tesla Model S who can probably help us out, too.

You can actually make this round trip with just setting the cruise control at 65mph. The Rav4 EV will go over 140 miles when new like yours (be sure you do an "extended" 100% charge). Your "heavy foot" has no power over cruise control !!! Lets count on charging your car early at my house (say 30-60 minutes at 40 amps).
