I might be wrong but I think then $42k prices worked out like this. Approx $48k sales price minus $10k Toyota Bonus Cash equals $38k plus $4k in tax (on $48k) to bring it to $42k. Then you take the $7500 fed tax credit and $2500 state rebate off that.

As they are near my house, I may have to stop by and see if I can spot any other differences other than the "D" and the non-bonus cash pricing.

Interesting observation. Now that I think about it, they are almost identical to LATCH points. I believe LATCH points are required by law to be welded to the frame of the vehicle. I wonder if that means these are as well. Sorry I don't have any insights to share on the seatbelt.
